Reconciliation & Indigenous Engagement

As part of our ongoing journey toward reconciliation, the Raven50 is committed to fostering meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities and honoring the land on which we run. We partner closely with the Kwanlin Dün First Nation (KDFN), offering complimentary entry to all Indigenous runners, land acknowledgments, and opening prayers at the start of the event.

This year, we had the privilege of taking a group of girls to Edmonton to participate in an Orange Shirt Day Run, an event organized by Anita Cardinal and Indigenous runners, which emphasizes awareness, healing, and the importance of truth and reconciliation. Experiences like this help foster connection to the land, culture, and community.

Through initiatives like these, we continue to explore new ways to support Indigenous participation in outdoor sports, to get more Indigenous runners out on the land, and to cultivate appreciation, understanding, and respect for the Yukon wilderness and Indigenous traditions. Our goal is to create accessible opportunities, celebrate cultural heritage, and help build a stronger, inclusive running community for all. We commit to build and expand: creating accessible opportunities, celebrating Indigenous heritage, and cultivating a stronger inclusive running community in the Yukon and beyond.

We’re proud to be part of a broader community making an impact through sustainable development and movement-based advocacy. Our partners at Run For Life have been featured in a thoughtful and inspiring piece by Ciele Athletics, highlighting the incredible work behind the Raven Run — a powerful initiative supporting our clean water efforts in East Africa.

“The Raven’s Path is not just a race — it’s a reflection of purpose, perseverance, and partnership. Through every step, it brings visibility and resources to projects like the Running Water Project, creating tangible change where it’s needed most.”
